LGBTQI Advocacy

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

For nearly 20 years, RCHP has stood firm in its affirmation, inclusion, and celebration of the God-inspired diversity in human sexuality and gender. For too long, narrow readings and proof-texting of select Scripture passages have been used as weapons against LGBTQI siblings in faith. The whole testimony of our Scriptures and of the work of the Spirit in the world is aimed toward inclusion of others, love of neighbors, and a vision of liberation for all who are held in captivity.

There is no human made law, or doctrine, or social norm that negates God’s love for each person, and neither will God remain neutral in instances of oppression and identity-based exclusion. In this firm belief, and in step with the ministry of Jesus and the movement of God’s Spirit, RCHP will continue to advocate for the equal rights, equal access, and equal treatment of all LGBTQI persons, irrespective to swings in cultural or political norms.
