Each Sunday morning, food is collected during the offering time of worship.
The Highland Park Food Pantry distributes fruit, vegetables and bread to Pantry food clients, generously donated by Farmer’s Market vendors June through October. This service provides fresh nutritious food to HP Food Pantry clients (at no cost) who might not otherwise be able to afford it due to limited incomes.
SHILO (Supporting Homeless Innovatively Loving Others)
SHILO provides advocacy in the form of food and clothing distribution, housing, job retention, mental health, and overall well being to those struggling with homelessness. If you would like to give directly to SHILO, please donate through the RCHP website and indicate in the memo.
Each June we journey to Washington D.C. for a day of advocacy on behalf of those who suffer from hunger and food insecurity.
RCHP participated in the ancient biblical practice of gleaning thanks to Farmers Against Hunger (FAH) which coordinates local people to collect leftover crops from farm fields to donate to local shelters, food pantries and other people in need. Click Potato Gleaning to view us in action!
