Supportive, Intentional Landlords

Reformed Church of Highland Park Affordable Housing Corporation (RCHP-AHC) demonstrates that the “last are first” through its comprehensive housing efforts.  Since 2008, this non-profit created by the church has acted as developer and landlord of 11 properties in Highland Park, New Brunswick, and Newark, NJ. We create permanent, supportive housing for people in need throughout New Jersey. Many tenants have special needs that make it difficult to afford a home.

Tenants include:

  • Young people who reach 18 after growing up in multiple foster homes
  • Youth leaving the criminal justice system
  • Veterans with health problems
  • Chronically homeless adults
  • Mental health consumers

Collaborating with agencies, faith communities and local groups, we not only provide four walls around a person, but also a warm and welcoming community to embrace them. We have found that mutual relationships with residents of supportive housing can help transform towns into caring neighborhoods. Community connections translate into neighborhood advocates, and a long-term commitment to the success of the project. To learn more about our properties and partners, please visit www.rchp-ahc.org
